Title: Objects as Media Of Reflexivity – New »Materialistic« Perspectives on the Field of Innovation and Its Social Contexts (OMedeR)
Duration: September 2014 to August 2017
Partners: ZU Friedrichshafen, UdK Berlin, jambit GmbH Munich
»Objects as Media of Reflexivity« – that rather sounds abstract and is not easy to grasp. And that is exactly the topic of our project: concepts, ideas and knowledge remaining completely on the level of thought and language have a hard time making it into the real work and to unfold practical impact. Our project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, is hence seeking for new approaches in this area and spans in the creative field between the arts, economy and science.
The projects investigates if and how reflexivity can be spread and sustained through the »mediation« of real, tangible objects (sculptures, alienated tools, etc.) – and thus creates the basis for innovative impulses. On these grounds, we will develop »illustrative material« for the practical reshaping of work, communication and education processes.
